Yabs.com: Meet New People in a Free Online Social World
A conversation can start with a race, an outfit or a walk around the plaza. Yabs gives you a place to explore while getting to know new people online.
What is Yabs?
Yabs.com is a free online social world that runs in your browser. Create a character, explore shared spaces and join activities with other players. Its world includes Central Plaza, a shopping mall, a pet shop and a running track.
You can put together an outfit, try a timed lap or find somewhere to sit and chat. Yabs is in early access, so its world and features are still developing.
Give your first conversation a starting point
If introducing yourself feels awkward, start with what you are doing together. Ask someone which place to explore next, invite them to a lap around the track, or ask about their character’s outfit.
Keep the first question simple: “Have you tried the track?” or “Where should I go first?” A shared activity gives you something to talk about, and a short hello leaves room for the other person to respond at their own pace.
How to get started on Yabs.com
- Visit Yabs.com and select Play free.
- Create an account with your email, a password and a username.
- Choose your character’s appearance in the studio.
- Explore from Central Plaza using desktop movement controls or the mobile joystick.
- Verify your email when you are ready to use chat.
There is no game to download. You need a modern browser with WebGL support; performance depends on your device and connection. The Yabs getting-started guide explains movement, the map and your first places to visit.
Is Yabs free, and do you need a camera?
Creating an account, exploring and joining activities are free. Optional clothing, accessories and pets use Yabits, the in-game currency. Check an item’s price before purchasing.
You can explore without a camera or microphone. Email verification is required for chat, and voice and video are optional. Start with text if that feels more comfortable.
Exploring an Omegle alternative
If your search for an Omegle alternative is about meeting new people, a social world is another format to try. Pick one activity for your first visit to Yabs, say hello to someone nearby and see whether you enjoy spending time there.
